Craigslist is a popular website. Millions of people visit Craigslist at any given day. It is actually one of the most frequently visited site on the Internet today. If you have a website, you can use Craigslist to drive massive traffic to it.  Think of Craigslist as a virtual flea market. People from around the world use Craigslist to offer their products and services to others. You will find people selling anything and everything on Craigslist -- from designer clothes and shoes to cars and real estate.

People who visit Craigslist are already in a buying mode, so you may experience a high conversion rate if you post an offer for your product or service on Craigslist.  Because Craigslist is broken down into regions, you can post your offers or advertisements on Craigslist in specific locations. You can choose the state, city or country you want your offer or ad to appear. You are not limited to just posting your offer or ad to your local region. When you post to Craiglist, your post will remain active for 45 days. When the 45 days are up, you can re-post your offer or ad if you want to continue getting exposure from Craigslist.  However, you need to know that the traffic that Craigslist can potentially bring you is not going to come from the people who are browsing the Craigslist listings. The traffic is going to come from Google because Google just loves Craigslist and regularly indexes the site. Don't be surprise if you see several Craigslist ads at the top of the search engine rankings.

If you craft your offer or ad carefully and correctly, your listing page may be at the top of Google's search results for your particular keywords or phrases within a week or even less.  To ensure that your Craigslist ad achieves a good ranking on Google, use the same SEO methods you use on your own website. There are still thousands of Craigslist-like sites out there, but they hardly come close to being able to generate the traffic that Craigslist can direct to your website.
